Where were you?
~
… Do you remember the moment in time when our nation actually came together?

Let’s pray it doesn’t take another 9/11 to open our eyes to each other and to be able to acknowledge our Heavenly Father.

  1. I’ll never forget that day. It was my first day on the job as communications director with the University of Mississippi Alumni Association. I was in the HR office and I noticed everyone was glued to the TV. We watched live as the second plane hit in NYC. The first task of my new job was to call Sen. Trent Lott (the minority whip and an Ole Miss alum) and see if he knew what was going on. He had to cut our call short because the Pentagon had just been hit, and they were evacuating all of the federal buildings. It was so surreal. Everything changed.

  2. I don’t think anyone can forget where they were. I was at work…at the school. The cafeteria manager came in and told us about the first plane…then the second one. Mellie and I were in that little office off a side hallway. When Dorothy came down from the front office and told us the Pentagon had been hit also, it was a very strange feeling. Shawn said, “surreal”, and I guess that’s as good a word as any. We were sitting in a small, windowless room and I wondered what was happening to the world outside. I remember them trying to land all planes. I also remember the endless news coverage for the next several days…weeks even. I remember one night when I was home alone and they were going to play a baseball game for the first time since it happened. There was a solemn ceremony before the start of the game and I cried so hard.

  3. I’ll never forget that day either. I had just gotten out of bed (6:30am pacific time) and my sister called to tell me.

I still don’t think I fully comprehend it.

    Heartbreaking.

  4. Miss you! Praying for you.
